OVERVIEW

Two-year Foundation Degrees are a new and very distinctive form of higher education. They are being introduced with strong backing and promotion from Government as the way to meet employer needs for ‘associate professional and technical level skills’.

Partnership and collaboration between employers and providers of higher education, the planned integration of work-based skills and academic learning and the relevance of skills and their application in a work-based environment are all central to the concept of the Foundation Degree.
