The Board's Chairman is Captain Nigel Palmer, OBE

Nigel Palmer joined BP Tankers (now BP
Shipping) in 1967 as a Cadet. He served as a junior and senior officer (latterly as
Master) in a variety of ships. He subsequently served in a variety of shore appointments
with BP Shipping and was seconded in 1991 to Australia and Japan, before returning to the
UK in 1997. |
| Following his
return to the UK in 1997 Nigel headed up the Fleet Operations and
Marine Assurance Groups before taking up his final role as Director,
Government & Industry prior to retirement from BP Shipping in the
autumn of 2004. |
